You Are Seen And Known
“O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar.” - Psalm 139:1-2
There is a deep human longing to be truly known. Not the version of yourself you present on social media or in professional settings, but the real you. The you that lies awake at 2 a.m. with a mind full of worry. The you that has doubts you have never said out loud. The you that has made mistakes you hope no one ever finds out about. We all carry parts of ourselves that we keep hidden because we are afraid that if people really knew us, they would not stay.
But God already knows. All of it. Every thought, every fear, every failure, every secret. And here is the miracle: He is still here. He has not run. He has not pulled back His love. He searched you completely and He chose you anyway. David wrote Psalm 139 as an act of worship, not anxiety, because he understood that being fully known by God is not a threat. It is the safest place in the universe. You are not a stranger to God. You are His, and He knows your name.
Spend a few minutes today reading all of Psalm 139. Let it wash over you as a reminder that you are fully known and fully loved. Ask God to help you live from that place of security rather than hiding behind the masks you have been wearing.
God, it amazes me that You know everything about me and You still love me. I do not have to hide from You. I do not have to perform for You. I am known and I am Yours. Help me rest in that truth today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
