Worship As A Lifestyle
“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” - Romans 12:1
Worship is bigger than a Sunday morning song set. According to Paul, true worship is presenting your entire life to God as a living sacrifice. Every decision, every relationship, every dollar, every hour: all of it is an act of worship when it is offered to God with a surrendered heart. The question is not just “Did I worship at church this week?” The question is “Is my life an act of worship?”
A living sacrifice is one that stays on the altar. The challenge is that living sacrifices have a tendency to crawl off. We surrender something to God on Sunday and take it back by Tuesday. Worship as a lifestyle means a daily recommitment to placing yourself in God’s hands, saying, “Not my will, but Yours.” That kind of worship transforms not just your Sunday but your Monday, your Tuesday, and every day in between.
Today, take a few minutes to identify one area of your life you have been holding back from God. Lay it on the altar in prayer and ask God to help you keep it there. Let that act of surrender be your worship today.
God, I want my whole life to be an act of worship. Not just the Sunday morning parts, but all of it. Take every area I have been holding back. I lay it all on the altar today. Be glorified in my life, in the ordinary and the extraordinary. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
