Who Are You Really

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” - Ephesians 2:10

There is a famous quote from Ian Simkins that says, “You live out what you believe about yourself, whether it’s true or not.” Think about that for a second. If you believe you’re not good enough, you’ll act like it. If you believe you’ll never measure up, you’ll live small. If you believe your worth is tied to what people think, you’ll spend your life performing. The way you see yourself shapes the way you live, even if the things you believe aren’t true.

And that’s where so many people get stuck. They spend their whole lives living out a false version of themselves. Maybe it’s the version their parents expected them to be. Maybe it’s the version society told them they had to be. Maybe it’s the version they built to protect themselves from rejection or failure. But deep down, they never actually discover who they are. And when you don’t know who you are, you can’t fully walk in what God has for you.

God didn’t create you to live someone else’s life. He didn’t design you to meet other people’s expectations while neglecting the calling He placed on you. Every time you shrink yourself to fit a mold that was never meant for you, you do harm-to yourself, to your relationship with God, and to the people around you who need you to be who He made you to be.

So what if today, you stopped living out the false story? What if you let go of the labels, the expectations, the fear of not being enough? What if you finally stepped into the truth that you are His workmanship, His creation, made for a purpose that only you can fulfill?

God isn’t asking you to be who the world wants you to be. He’s calling you to be who He created you to be. So stop living small. Stop carrying lies. Stop chasing approval that doesn’t satisfy. The real you-the one He designed-is the one He wants to use.
