“For he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on, all generations will call me blessed.” - Luke 1:48

When God chose the person who would carry His Son into the world, He did not look to the powerful or the well-known. He did not go to the palace or the temple. He went to a small town called Nazareth and found a young woman named Mary. She had no title, no influence, and no platform. In the eyes of the world, she was a nobody. Yet in the eyes of God, she was exactly who He wanted to use.

That truth should fill every heart with hope. God has always taken what seems small and turned it into something significant. He used a shepherd boy to defeat a giant. He used fishermen to spread the gospel. He used a teenage girl to bring the Savior into the world. God does not need fame, talent, or a perfect resume to do great things. He looks for hearts that are willing to say yes.

Mary’s story reminds us that surrender matters more than status. Her greatness was not found in what she could offer, but in her willingness to be available. When she said, “I am the Lord’s servant,” she opened the door for heaven to move through her life. That same invitation still stands for us today. God is not searching for people who appear important. He is searching for people who will trust Him completely.

You may feel overlooked or unqualified. You may wonder if God could ever use someone like you. The story of Mary answers that question with a clear yes. God delights in turning nobodies into vessels of glory. When you give Him your ordinary life, He fills it with extraordinary purpose. What matters most is not where you come from or who notices you. What matters is that your heart is surrendered to the One who can use it all for His glory.
