What Has God Called You to Do

“As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.” - Ephesians 4:1

What Has God Called You to Do? Have you ever paused to consider this question? Throughout the Bible, we see individuals being called by God to fulfill specific purposes. God’s calling is not limited to a select few; He has a unique calling for each of His children.

In Ephesians 4:1, the apostle Paul urges believers to live a life worthy of the calling they have received. This verse reminds us that God’s calling is not just about a future destination in heaven but about how we live our lives here and now.

God’s calling can manifest in various ways. It might be a specific vocation, a ministry, a role in your family, or a unique way you can impact your community. Regardless of the form, God’s calling always aligns with His will and is intended to bring glory to Him.

Discovering your calling begins with seeking God’s guidance through prayer and studying His Word. As you draw near to Him, He will reveal His plans and purposes for your life.

Sometimes, God’s calling may seem challenging or beyond your abilities. However, remember that He equips those He calls. He provides the necessary gifts, talents, and resources to fulfill the tasks He assigns.

Resisting God’s calling can lead to dissatisfaction and a sense of unfulfillment. It’s like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole-it just doesn’t work. When you align your life with God’s calling, you experience a deep sense of purpose and fulfillment.

Don’t compare your calling to others’. God’s plan for your life is uniquely tailored to your personality, experiences, and strengths. Your calling may not look like anyone else’s, and that’s perfectly okay.

As you embrace God’s calling, you become a part of His greater plan to impact the world for His kingdom. You become a vessel through which His love, grace, and truth can flow to those around you.

So, what has God called you to do? Take time to seek His guidance and discern your calling. Trust that God’s plan for your life is beautiful and purposeful. Live a life worthy of the calling you have received, and in doing so, bring honor and glory to your Heavenly Father.
