The Long View Of Faith
“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” - Philippians 1:6
God is not finished with you. That is the promise of Philippians 1:6, and it is one of the most encouraging truths in all of Scripture. The work He started in you on the day you first believed is still in progress. He has not given up. He has not moved on to someone more promising. He is committed to completing what He began, and He does not leave unfinished work.
As you reflect on this fourth week and the month as a whole, take the long view. Growth is rarely linear. There are seasons of rapid progress and seasons where you feel like you are barely moving. But God is at work in both. He is working in the waiting and in the wilderness, in the victories and in the failures. Trust the process. Trust the One who is doing the work. He who began a good work in you is faithful to finish it.
Write a letter to yourself from the perspective of who you want to be one year from now, spiritually. What does that person look like? What habits do they have? What has God done in their life? Let that vision fuel your commitment to growth.
Father, thank You that You are not done with me. Thank You for the work You have begun and the work You will complete. I trust Your timing and Your process. Help me stay faithful in the season I am in, knowing that You are always moving me forward. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
