The Evidence of God's Presence
“That they may believe that the Lord, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.” - Exodus 4:5
God doesn’t leave us without proof of His presence. He doesn’t call us to walk by faith without giving us evidence of His work in our lives. The Bible often reminds us of how He uses signs and wonders to confirm His hand at work.
In Exodus 4:5, God tells Moses that He will use a simple staff to show the people that He is the one behind the calling on Moses’ life. The staff, in and of itself, was not powerful, but when used by God, it became a symbol of His power and authority.
You may not have a staff in your hand, but God still provides evidence of His presence in your life. Sometimes, it’s through small moments that seem ordinary but are actually acts of His guidance.
It could be a conversation, an open door, or even a sense of peace that confirms you’re heading in the right direction. God is faithful to show us His hand in the circumstances of our lives, whether it’s through a door that opens unexpectedly or a situation that is turned around at just the right time.
The challenge is, we often fail to recognize those moments. We get caught up in our own plans and our own understanding, and we forget to look for the ways God is confirming His will for us. Just as God used a staff to show Moses that He was with him, He uses different things in your life to confirm His calling and presence. It’s not always a grand miracle but rather the quiet confirmation that God is with you in the journey.
As you move forward in life, remember that God is not silent. He is showing you His hand in your everyday circumstances. Trust that He will provide the confirmation you need, just as He did for Moses. When you look for God’s presence in your life, you will see that He is constantly at work, guiding you and confirming His calling, just as He did with Moses and the staff.
