Standing Firm When The Storm Hits

October 19, 2026•1 min read

“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.” - Ephesians 6:13

Some days, the goal is not to conquer. Some days, the goal is just to stand. Paul understood this. He did not tell the Ephesians to charge forward and take new ground in Ephesians 6:13. He told them to put on the full armor of God and stand firm. There is a kind of spiritual victory that looks like simply not giving up. Not surrendering to the pressure. Not walking away from what God has called you to. Just standing.

The storms of life are not a sign that you have done something wrong or that God has abandoned you. Jesus told His disciples in John 16:33, “In the world you will have tribulation.” He did not say “if.” He said “when.” The question is not whether the storm will come. The question is whether you will still be standing when it passes. Put on the armor. Stand on the Word. Hold your ground. God is fighting for you even when you cannot see it.

Read Ephesians 6:10-18 today and identify which piece of armor you feel you are missing most right now. Is it truth? Is it peace? Is it faith? Ask God to equip you in that specific area today.

God, help me stand firm today. I am not going to run from this storm. I am going to stand in the middle of it, dressed in Your armor, trusting in Your strength. You are my shield and my fortress. I will not be moved. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
