Reflect And Renew

October 04, 2026•2 min read

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” - Matthew 11:28

Sunday is a gift. In a culture that never stops moving, God built rest into the rhythm of life from the very beginning. He rested on the seventh day not because He was tired, but because He was modeling something essential for us. We are not machines. We are people made in the image of a relational God, and we need regular moments to stop, to breathe, and to reconnect with the One who holds all things together.

As you close out your first week of this devotional journey, take time today to reflect. How has God shown up for you this week? Where did you feel His presence most clearly? Where did you struggle to trust Him? Bring all of it to Him honestly. He already knows, and He is not surprised by any of it. His invitation is always open: “Come to me.” Not “come when you have it together.” Not “come when you have all the right answers.” Just come. Lay it all down. Let Him restore what the week has taken out of you.

Set aside 15 to 20 minutes today to sit quietly with God. No agenda. No prayer list. Just rest in His presence. Let Him speak to you. Let this be your reset before a new week begins.

Father, thank You for the gift of rest. Thank You for this week and for every moment You were present even when I did not notice. I lay down the weight of everything I have been carrying and I receive Your rest. Renew my strength, refresh my heart, and prepare me for what is ahead. I come to You just as I am. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
