When are you going to forgive yourself? We all make mistakes, and sometimes it can be hard to move on from them. But the good news is that we don’t have to carry the weight of our sins forever.

1 John 1:9 tells us that if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us and purify us from all unrighteousness. This means that we don’t have to continue to hold on to our mistakes and beat ourselves up over them. Jesus died for our sins so that we could be forgiven and set free from guilt and shame.

But how do we actually go about forgiving ourselves? It starts with acknowledging our mistakes and confessing them to God. We can’t hide from our sins or pretend that they didn’t happen. We have to face them head-on and ask for forgiveness.

Once we confess our sins, we need to believe that we are truly forgiven. We can’t continue to dwell on our mistakes or punish ourselves for them. We have to trust in God’s promise to forgive us and move forward in faith.

Another important step in forgiving ourselves is to extend grace to ourselves, just as God extends grace to us. We need to give ourselves permission to make mistakes and learn from them. We can’t expect perfection from ourselves, but we can strive for progress.

So, my challenge for you today is to let go of the past and forgive yourself. Confess your sins to God, trust in His forgiveness, and extend grace to yourself. Remember, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” You don’t have to carry the weight of your mistakes any longer. Let go and forgive yourself.
