It should have been you.

The betrayal, the mocking, the crown of thorns digging into His skull. Good Friday is a reminder that the work is finished. Jesus didn’t die for you to keep living in guilt and condemnation. He died to set you free. The blood He shed is proof that you are forgiven, redeemed, and made new. You don’t have to strive to be enough. His sacrifice already declared that you are.

So today, let the weight of what happened on that cross break you but let the love that held Him there restore you. Because the story doesn’t end in death. Sunday is coming. But for today, sit in the reality of what it cost. And never forget, He took your place because He couldn’t imagine eternity without you.
