Hold On to the Promise

“Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her.” - Luke 1:45

When Mary received the message from the angel, she was told something no one had ever heard before. She would give birth to the Son of God. There were no examples to follow, no proof to lean on, and no clear explanation of how it would all work. Yet she chose to believe that every word God spoke would come true. She trusted a promise she could not yet see fulfilled.

That is what faith often looks like. It is believing that God is working even when nothing seems to be happening. It is holding on when your emotions tell you to let go. For Mary, there must have been moments of confusion and fear. She was carrying a promise that others could not understand. But instead of focusing on the problem, she clung to what God had said. She believed that His word was enough to sustain her through the waiting.

Every believer faces seasons that test faith in the same way. You may be waiting for healing, for restoration, or for direction. You may not understand why God is taking so long to answer. In those moments, your confidence cannot rest in what you see. It has to rest in what He has spoken. God’s promises are not fragile. They are unshakable, even when life feels uncertain.

Mary’s story reminds us that faith is not just believing once. It is choosing, day after day, to keep trusting when the outcome is still unseen. The same God who kept His word to her will keep His word to you. When your situation does not make sense, cling to the promise, not the problem. God always finishes what He starts, and in His perfect time, the promise will become your testimony.
