Has God Disrupted Your Life

“Job stood up and tore his robe in grief. Then he shaved his head and fell to the ground to worship. He said, ‘I came naked from my mother’s womb, and I will be naked when I leave. The Lord gave me what I had, and the Lord has taken it away. Praise the name of the Lord!’ In all of this, Job did not sin by blaming God.” - Job 1:20-22

Are you in a season of disruption? Has God disrupted the state of your life? You might be saying, “Pastor, that is exactly where I am. Life was going so smooth, and out of nowhere, God just flipped my life upside down and I have no idea what to do now.”

As we have looked at this past week, if God stepped in and disrupted your life, He did so for a specific purpose. Maybe He disrupted your life to get your attention, to shift your focus back to Him. Maybe He did it to remind you of where your dependence should be. Maybe He did so to interrupt your current state of sin. Or maybe He did so to push you outside of your comfort zone and into a life of more.

Whatever the reason, God had a specific purpose for disrupting your life. What we know is that God disrupts our lives because He loves us too much to allow us to remain where we are at. He wants us to continue growing.

We see this with Job. Here was a man, obedient and faithful to God, whom the devil wants to mess with. God allows the devil to mess with Job, as long as He does not kill him.

After being tested, Job says in chapter 1 verses 21-22, “‘I came naked from my mother’s womb, and I will be naked when I leave. The Lord gave me what I had, and the Lord has taken it away. Praise the name of the Lord!’ In all of this, Job did not sin by blaming God.”

Are you blaming God for disrupting your life? Or are you seeking to understand the deeper purpose? Do not blame God. He loves you too much to leave you where you are. When God disrupts your life, it is painful for a season, but it is always better in the long run! Praise the Lord for what He is about to do through this season of disruption!
