“For still the vision awaits its appointed time, it hastens to the end-it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it, it will surely come, it will not delay.” - Habakkuk 2:3

When God gives you a promise, your first instinct might be to assume it will happen right away. You expect the door to open, the answer to come, the breakthrough to arrive. But what happens when it doesn’t? What happens when you say yes to God and still find yourself stuck in the same place?

Delay isn’t denial. Just because it hasn’t happened yet does not mean it won’t. Sometimes God allows a delay because He is developing something in you. The process is not punishment. It is preparation. There are things God needs to build in you so that when the promise arrives, you are strong enough to hold it.

The detours along the way are not accidents either. Think about Moses. Think about Joseph. Think about Paul. None of their journeys went in a straight line. None of them experienced instant success. They faced closed doors, long roads, and seasons of silence. But in all of it, God never stopped working.

Detours don’t cancel destiny. What God has spoken over your life is still alive. Even when your current view looks nothing like what He promised, His hand is still on your path. You may not have chosen the delays or the detours, but God is using every single one of them to lead you where He said you would go.

So don’t get discouraged in the in-between. Don’t let frustration rob you of your faith. Keep showing up. Keep believing. Keep trusting the God who does not forget what He promises. If it seems slow, wait for it. It will surely come. He will not delay. His timing is perfect, and His faithfulness never runs out. What He started, He will finish.
