Chosen Without an Invitation
“For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” - Romans 11:29
Have you ever felt left out or overlooked? Maybe you’ve been waiting for someone to notice you, to extend that invitation, or open that door to an opportunity you’ve been longing for. It’s easy to feel like your future depends on someone else’s approval or recognition. But the truth is that you don’t need an invitation from the world to be chosen by God.
David’s story is proof of this. When Samuel came to anoint the next king of Israel, David wasn’t even in the room. His own father didn’t think he was worth including. Jesse invited all of David’s brothers, the ones who seemed stronger, older, and more impressive. But none of them were God’s choice. While David was out in the pasture, unseen by anyone else, God was already preparing to call him forward. David didn’t need to be in the room to be chosen. God’s plan for his life wasn’t dependent on human invitations.
What God has planned for you is the same. He doesn’t need the approval of others to bring His plans to pass in your life. It doesn’t matter who notices you or who overlooks you, God’s purpose for you is secure. When He calls you, no one can take that away. No missed opportunity or human rejection can stop the plans God has set in motion.
If you’re feeling like you’ve been left out or waiting for someone else to give you permission to step into your calling, remember this: God has already chosen you. He sees you, even when others don’t. His plan for your life is significant, and it doesn’t depend on an invitation from the world.
Trust God to open the doors you need at the right time. You don’t have to strive for man’s approval or recognition. God has already picked you, and what He has for you, no one can take away. Stay faithful where you are, and trust Him to lead you into the opportunities He has prepared just for you.
