Call Ignored

May 20, 20232 min read

“And He who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.” - Romans 8:27-29

Have you ever tried to call someone - maybe it was urgent, and you needed to tell them something quickly - and as you listened to the first ring, the call cut off? You wonder, what happened? That didn’t even ring but once?

Then you take the phone from your ear and look at the screen and it says, “CALL IGNORED.” This can cause us all kinds of frustration. We think to ourselves, “They have no idea how important this is, and if they would just answer this call, I could really help them right now.”

Maybe you are a parent or a friend that has tried to help someone, only to get the “CALL IGNORED” showing up on your phone. You might think “If only they knew, they would answer…”

Now, let’s flip the script. What about when you ignore God’s calls? Ah, now it feels a little different. God is saying the same thing. “If only they knew, I’m trying to help them. I want what’s best for them. I can get them out…”

But we think we know better than God. Or we worry that when He calls, He is going to say something we don’t want to hear. Or He is going to want us to do something in a way we don’t want to do it.

God knows best. Romans 8:27 tells us, “And He who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.”

God knows what you need even before you need it. Why do you ignore His calls? Don’t miss another call from God. Obeying the call of God is ALWAYS in your best interest.
